Daily Mail botoi disa të dhëna të pasurisë së presidentit turk Recep Tayyip Erdogan, duke e vënë theksin tek kontrasti me varfërinë ekstreme në të cilën jeton 1/3 e vendit. Në qendër të shkrimit janë pallatet luksoze të “sulltanit” të Turqisë dhe shpenzimet e shfrenuara të bashkëshortes së saj, Emine.

“Ajo pretendon se bën një jetë të thjeshtë dhe modeste duke respektuar në mënyrë strikte vlerat myslimane, duke i kaluar orët e saj në pallat, në kuzhinë, duke fermentuar mollë në mënyrë që t’i shndërrojë në uthull. Dhe e pi atë në filxhanë të larë me flori që kushtojnë 280 euro secili”.

Emine është vërtet e shfrenuar në maninë për të blerë në dyqanet më të shtrenjta të Europës. “Një herë ajo mbylli një qendër të tërë tregtare në Bruksel që të bënte pazaret, ndërsa në një tjetër rast, teksa shoqëronte burrin e saj në vizitë zyrtare në Varshav, bleu 45 mijë euro antikuariate në një treg të posaçëm”.
