Sot i jepet lamtumira dhe përcillet për në banesëm e fundit gjeniu i letërsisë shqipe Ismail Kadare.
Homazhet në nder të tij po kryhen në ambientet e Teatrit Kombëtar të Operas dhe Baletit, ndërsa në orën 11:30 nis ceremonia shtetërore dhe në orën 12:30 nis kortezhi për përcjelljen në varreza.
Në fotot e siguruara nga LSA, shihet edhe bashkëshortja e tij, Helena Kadare dhe vajzat e saj, Besiana dhe Gresa, veshur në të zeza e me lot në sy.
